01 · Alignment First

Invisalign before veneers — the alignment-first philosophy.

Straighten the teeth first, then perfect only what still needs shape or color. It is the quiet reason our cases look natural and use less porcelain than the industry norm.

Why we almost always straighten first

The fastest way to spend a lot of money on cosmetic dentistry is to skip alignment. Veneers on crooked teeth ask the porcelain to do a job it was not designed for — mask a bite problem, hide a rotation, fake symmetry. The result is more preparation, thicker veneers, and a smile that looks pasted on.

The alignment-first approach flips the sequence: we move the teeth into the right position first, then decide how few veneers we actually need. In most cases, fewer.

Invisalign at GLO

We offer clear aligner therapy through Invisalign in two tracks:

  • Invisalign Lite. Up to fourteen aligners for mild-to-moderate cases. Best when the goal is minor rotation, small spacing, or preparing the teeth for a modest veneer case.
  • Invisalign Comprehensive. Unlimited aligners, refinements included, and Vivera retainers at the end. The right choice for complex movements or a full smile transformation.

Every Invisalign case includes the iTero scan, all aligners, all check-ins, retainers, and a whitening kit at the end of treatment. See the pricing page for both tracks side by side.

Braces, when they make more sense

Aligners are not always the right tool. For patients who need larger movements, complex extrusions, or bite corrections that clear plastic cannot deliver, we offer metal, ceramic, and self-ligating (Damon-style) fixed appliances. All include exam, records, all appointments, and retainers.

The Perfect 8 — the combined case we recommend most

Our signature combined package is Invisalign Comprehensive plus eight porcelain veneers. The Invisalign phase straightens the smile — usually six to twelve months — and only after alignment is complete do we prep and place the veneers. Because the teeth are already in the right position, we can use conservative veneer thicknesses on eight teeth instead of twelve or more, and the porcelain does what it does best: color, shape, and finish.

See the Packages section on the home page for the current bundled price and included items.

How the two phases sequence

  • Phase 1 — Alignment (6 to 12 months). Invisalign or braces, on your schedule, with routine check-ins.
  • Phase 2 — Design (2 weeks). Once alignment is complete, we take new records and design the veneer case. Digital Smile Design preview available.
  • Phase 3 — Placement (3 to 6 weeks). Preparation, trial smile, and final porcelain — the same workflow described on our veneers page.
  • Phase 4 — Retention. Vivera retainers and a custom night guard protect both the alignment and the porcelain for the long term.

Who should consider alignment first

Almost every cosmetic patient benefits from at least a short course of aligners before veneers. The exceptions are patients whose teeth are already well-positioned and simply need cosmetic refinement, or patients with medical reasons to avoid the alignment phase. At the consultation, we will tell you honestly which category you fall into.

Alignment first. Fewer veneers later.
