Answers, before you ask.
Everything patients most often want to know about porcelain veneers, alignment, insurance, timeline, and how our studio in Uptown Charlotte compares to dental tourism in Mexico or Turkey.
We keep costs down by planning cases digitally, working with a focused set of trusted labs, and bundling everything into one transparent price — no upselling. You are not paying for large corporate overhead, just our doctors' time and lab-quality materials. What you save is real; what you get is not compromised.
Once you add flights, hotels, and at least a week off work, overseas veneers often cost nearly as much as ours — but with far higher retreatment risk and no local recourse. If something goes wrong abroad, your only option is another flight overseas. With GLO there is no travel, no week off work, and the same doctor sees you at every visit. Just as important, you get the reassurance of U.S. regulated care: every treatment meets American clinical standards, materials sourcing, and infection control protocols. You communicate in your native language, in a familiar setting, with no mystery about where your veneers came from or who fabricated them. We use conservative prep to protect your natural enamel, and if anything is ever off, you simply walk in — no flying back.
“Turkey teeth” is the term for aggressively over-prepared crowns that some overseas clinics install and call veneers. They grind healthy teeth down to small posts to seat full-coverage crowns. The result looks bright at first and fails at a much higher rate — often within a few years. Our approach is the opposite: minimally invasive veneer preparation that preserves natural enamel, so the underlying tooth structure stays healthy and the veneers bond predictably.
Our Tier 01 veneers are a 3D-printed resin and ceramic-infused material. Cosmetically, it is just as good an option as traditional ceramic or porcelain — the same beautiful look, shape, and shade options. The tradeoff: this material will lose its luster over time and typically needs replacement around the 5-year mark on average. Porcelain veneers hold their appearance far longer, which is why they cost more. For patients who want a less invasive, more affordable option — especially those who want to try the look before committing to porcelain — the 3D-printed resin composite is an excellent choice.
We accept most dental insurance plans and will file on your behalf. Cosmetic treatments like veneers typically are not covered by insurance, but many orthodontic and restorative components may be. No insurance? No problem — ask about third-party financing options through approved lenders.
Most porcelain cases take two to three main visits over a few weeks: consultation and scan, prep with a trial smile, then final placement. Our doctors most often recommend a 10-veneer case for the best aesthetic outcome — it covers the full visible smile line and eliminates the transition between treated and natural teeth. 3D-printed resin composite cases follow their own timeline and are scheduled in advance based on the case; same-day completion is not guaranteed. We will map out your exact timeline at your consultation.
Our Regional Rescue program is built for you. If you are within about a six-hour drive of Charlotte, we offer a free virtual consult, a $500 travel credit on any case over $5,000, and coordinated visits so you spend less time traveling and more time smiling.
Yes. Alignment is often the smartest first step in a cosmetic case — straightening the teeth first means we can use fewer, thinner veneers to achieve the final look. We offer Invisalign in Lite and Comprehensive tracks, and we also offer metal, ceramic, and self-ligating braces for cases that call for them. Details on our alignment page.
Porcelain veneers require a small amount of enamel reduction, so the process is considered irreversible — but conservative preparation protects most of your tooth structure. Well-cared-for porcelain veneers routinely last 10 to 20 years or more. When a veneer eventually needs replacement, it is replaced with another veneer, not a crown.
IV sedation is available as an add-on service for longer or more complex cases and is quoted separately at consultation. Most porcelain veneer prep appointments are completed comfortably with local anesthesia alone.
Still weighing dental tourism?
If your question is really about whether it makes sense to fly to Turkey or Mexico for veneers, the honest answer is that once you add flights, hotels, time off work, and the real retreatment rate, the math almost never favors overseas. We built a side-by-side breakdown of the numbers and the follow-up care difference — worth a read before you book a plane ticket.
